Ram Jaipal College was established on 05th. July 1971. It is one of the leading higher education learning institutions of Bihar. In a journey spanning over five decades, the college has evolved from its humble beginning as Chapra College, Chapra, affiliated to Bihar University, Muzaffarpur to a bustling Constituent Unit of Jai Prakash University, Chapra, catering to thousands of students of Saran upto PG level. The establishment of this college was a result of tireless efforts of several philanthropists, educationists and Social workers of Chapra. Under the leadership of Late Hira Lal Rai (Founder Principal of this college), this college got its shape by the grace of Late Ram Jaipal Singh Yadav (Former Dy. C. M., Govt. of Bihar), hence the name Ram Jaipal College. The college is spread over 3.2 Acres of land, located at Dak Bunglow Road which is at the heart of Chapra. The college imparts quality education at the graduation level in 14 subjects and at the post graduate level in 4 subjects. The college is highly active in organizing socially relevant seminars, lectures and workshops and it also has a vibrant NSS and NCC chapters.
